High-purity ochre originating from the historic deposits of Burgundy, France. It is distinguished by its warm, terracotta-red hue. The Burgundy ochre is considered rare today, as the region’s mines have long ceased operation—making this pigment especially valuable.

High-purity natural pigment derived from earths rich in iron and manganese oxides and hydroxides (Fe₂O₃, FeO(OH), MnO₂) within a clay matrix. During thermal treatment, the hydroxides are converted into stable oxides, resulting in a deeper, warmer reddish-brown hue and improved color purity and stability.
